Write Angry

by Randy Murray on October 13, 2014

Write angry. When something or someone upsets you, when you find that you cannot tolerate it any longer, lash out, but do so with words upon a page or screen.

Write with great fury. Let your hand pass over the paper in a tremendous scribbled hurry. Pound the keys with a machine-gun staccato.

Write when incensed, when put upon, and do so with bitter, choleric gall. Dare to hold absolutely nothing back.

Write what you must not say. Write all of it. Leave nothing behind.

Write with fierce abandon. And then, with the flames of your anger dying back, save your work for another day, a day when your wrath has cooled, but is not yet cold.

Then stir it into a conflagration again.

And write.
