Really Good Reasons Why Not To Write—#10 No One Else Will Ever Read It

by Randy Murray on August 20, 2014

That thing that you’re writing? No one will read it. It may never see the light of day. And if published, maybe only a handful of people will ever read it. Maybe your Mom. Cousin Sue won’t even look at it.

It’s true. Most of the things that you write will never find their way to readers. And if no one will read what you’ve written, then why write?

An excellent question. You should ask yourself that frequently. Why, exactly, are you writing?

If the answer is, “For millions of people to read,” then, perhaps, you might not bother. Not you, Mr. King. You can carry on.

For the rest of us, who knows? Will anyone ever read this? Perhaps very few will. That’s an excellent reason not to write. Perhaps.

Or you could just write.
