Short Writing Assignments For Hypochondriacs: #3 A Sore Throat

by Randy Murray on June 8, 2011

Can’t talk, can’t swallow. Can just barely type this. Maybe a little ice-cream would help . . .

You can feel your throat tightening, can’t you. It’s raw and every swallow bring the pain and discomfort to a new level. What did you do to deserve such treatment?

We seem to be made to suffer, it’s our lot in life.* At least let it energize your writing.

In today’s assignment, write about your sore throat. You may want to resort to pen and paper so you can hold your throat in one hand and leave your final words for the world with the other.

You may leave your completed assignment in the comments section below.

*Yes, I’m quoting Star Wars. And it’s Star Wars, not “A New Hope.” George Lucas is a revisionist (And those three recent movies don’t exist, so there.).
